In addition to the four fluted channels, the Smart Drain features a direct, high-flow transition from the indwelling to the open bore. The transition therefore enhances flow performance and patency, mitigating clot formation.
Competitive fluted catheters have an indirect transition spanning a few inches (up to four times longer) compromising flow and a higher likelihood of thrombus formation, leading to tube occlusion.
Redax’s silicone extrusion technology allows them to dramatically reduce the size of the transition zone, all without internal lumen reduction.
All Smart Drains are constructed of high-quality silicone and are completely hubless, allowing for improved patient comfort.
